Three Little Deer

Once upon a time, there were three little deer who decided it was time to leave their mother and build their own homes. The first little deer was lazy and built his house out of straw. The second little deer was a bit more diligent and built his house out of sticks. The third little deer was the wisest of them all and built his house out of bricks.

One day, a hungry and ferocious wolf came along looking for a meal. He saw the straw house and went up to the door and said, "Little deer, little deer, let me come in."

The little deer replied, "Not by the hair on my chinny chin chin."

The wolf, being very sly, decided to try to trick the little deer. He told him to meet him at the fair the next day to buy a butter churn. The little deer was gullible and agreed to meet the wolf.

The next day, the wolf didn't show up at the fair, so the little deer went home. But the wolf was waiting for him there and huffed and puffed and blew down the straw house. The little deer ran to his brother's house made of sticks.

The wolf followed the little deer and arrived at the stick house. He said, "Little deer, little deer, let me come in."

The two little deer replied, "Not by the hair on our chinny chin chin."

The wolf followed the two little deer to the brick house, and he said, "Little deer, little deer, let me come in."

The three little deer replied, "Not by the hair on our chinny chin chin."

The wolf huffed and puffed and huffed and puffed, but he couldn't blow down the brick house. He was so exhausted that he decided to try to climb down the chimney. The clever little deer, however, had anticipated this and had placed a pot of boiling water at the bottom of the chimney. When the wolf climbed down, he fell right into the pot and was boiled alive.

From that day on, the three little deer lived happily in their brick house, safe and sound from any predators that might come their way. They learned the value of hard work and careful planning, and they lived happily ever after.
