In School we are 10'Boys and 10'Girls.
In Under Graduation we are 40'Boy's and 30'Girls.
In College we are 43'Men and 23'Women.
So the same got reflected while we join Jobs.
We always think we don't have gender equality in number in corporate/Software offices and tries to bring different reforms to make it better.
In this case the problem is not at corporate/Software Companies level. But the number is decreasing in completing the education itself and we need to fix the issue there to have better ratio at corporate/Software Companies.
Now the next case is not having sufficient number of Top Management in corporate/Software Companies.
In any company or project, one thing we always forgot to notice is the Number's in program manager’s vs the Technical manager/architects.
90% of program managers/scrum masters in any company are females
&
90% of architects/technical managers are male.
Even when you see any lab/hardware or Innovation activities we see a minimal participation.
There may be so many reasons for this but consider an example to design or build a device.
1. The 1st person whom any one look for is a technical developer.
2. The 2nd person to look for is a core hardware expert.
Its not like that a managerial role is bad or reducing the importance of a manager. But you need someone to manage a team once you have product. For a startup to reach that position for a company needs techinical team as there are less Technical architects or hardware experts in women, the gender gap is already created at low level and top level.
So problem where women were not able to reach top is not their performance or the gender, it’s the role where to show case the best talent they have is not been guided properly. We saw only male members are in top position. That’s true and that's not true also as many male members also were not able to reach top position. The only people who realize that technical value and show-casing innovation helps them are able to move faster in corporate ladder.
It’s not women don't want to be in technical side. It’s sometimes they might be miss-lead to be a program manager or some might choose by seeing their seniors. I always feel sad when someone really good in technical is moved towards managerial Side.
NOTE: My intention is never to reduce the importance of a managerial role. It’s just that a product need technical team to start which is causing the gap, as many are moving towards management side.
"""Does a scrum master needed an engineering degree..If not then why do you wanna waste a techincal engineer in a field which was supposed to be managed by a management professional..""""
I know it might hurt many but when it’s the ugliest truth, trying to find a best solution is always the best fix rather than just trying to fix where we see the issue. You can fix the issue in any Number of ways, but the reason why we do "Root Cause" is to fix in the exact place where we find an issue.
